Job action by members of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 615 will affect multiple Saskatoon Transit routes on Tuesday.
City officials said drivers refusing to overtime will affect the following regular routes due to limited resources:
- Roger Hodgson concert – Bus service to SaskTel Centre has been cancelled. SaskTel Centre has arranged alternate transportation options.
- Route 2 – Leaving the downtown terminal between 3:44 p.m. and 4:16 p.m. CT may experience a high volume of passengers, which could result in a full bus.
- Route 4 – Travelling to Willowgrove at 3:50 p.m. may experience a high volume of passengers, which could result in a full bus.
- Route 7 – Leaving Confederation Terminal travelling to city centre at 3:46 p.m. may experience a high volume of passengers, which could result in a full bus.
- Route 12 – May experience a high volume of passengers around 4 p.m. which could result in full buses.
- Route 17 – Stonebridge may experience a high volume of passengers between 4:21 p.m. and 4:48 p.m. which could result in full buses.
- Route 18 – Travelling to Centre Mall at 4:30 p.m. may experience a high volume of passengers, which could result in a full bus.
- Route 20 South Industrial Special – Leaving Melville Street and Brand Road at 5:06 p.m. has been cancelled.
- Route 23 – Travelling from Confederation Mall at 4:24 p.m. and arriving at the Shaw Centre at 4:35 p.m. has been cancelled. Route 23 may experience a high volume of passengers between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. which could result in full buses.
- Route 30 – Lawson Heights will be cancelled after 9:44 p.m. this evening.
- Route 45 Kenderdine / City Centre – May experience a high volume of passengers between 4:37 p.m. and 6:14 p.m. which could result in a full buses.
- Route 50 – Leaving Place Riel for Lakeview at 4:21 p.m. may experience a high volume of passengers, which could result in a full bus.
- Route 60 – Travelling to Confederation Mall at 4:14 p.m. may experience a high volume of passengers, which could result in a full bus.
- Route 82 Briarwood – Travelling to Centre Mall between 2:44 p.m. and 4:08 p.m. may experience a high volume of passengers, which could result in full buses.
- Route 84 – Travelling to Briarwood from Centre Mall at 3:24 p.m. may experience a high volume of passengers, which could result in a full bus.

School extra routes impacted:
- Route 311 and 331 – Servicing Holy Cross, Walter Murray and Aden Bowman at 3:24 p.m. and 3:28 p.m. have been cancelled. Students at Aden Bowman will be required to use the Route 17, students are Holy Cross and Walter Murray should use the Route 81. These routes may experience a high volume of passengers resulting in full buses.
- Route 335 – Servicing Walter Murray starting at 3:35 p.m. has been cancelled. Students will be required to use Route 81, which may experience a high volume of passengers resulting in full buses.
- Route 339 – Bethlehem & Tommy Douglas High Schools at 3:35 p.m. has been cancelled. Students will be required to use Route 23 which may experience a high volume of passengers resulting in full buses.
- Route 341 – Servicing Bedford Road Collegiate, E.D. Feehan Catholic High School, Mount Royal Collegiate at 3:30 p.m. has been cancelled. Students will be required to use Route 5 and Route 2 which may experience a high volume of passengers resulting in full buses.
- Route 346 – Servicing Westview, Dundonald and JA MacDonald at 3:25 p.m. has been cancelled. Students will be required to use Route 23, Route 60 and Route 7, which may experience a high volume of passengers resulting in full buses.
- Route 356 – Servicing Bishop James Mahoney High School and Marion M. Graham Collegiate at 3:35 p.m. has been cancelled. Students will be required to use Route 35 which may experience a high volume of passengers resulting in full buses.
Riders can see service alerts on both the Saskatoon Transit and the city’s websites, using the transit app and by following Saskatoon Transit on Twitter.
Access Transit is not affected as it is an essential service.
Members of ATU Local 615 began job action on Saturday over what they are calling a lack of movement in the current contract talks.
At issue is pensions, with the city wanting the right to be able to bargain changes in the future without absorbing any additional liability.

On Monday, the city reaffirmed it is not changing its bargaining position.
Unionized transit workers have been without a contract for nearly four years.
