Halifax police investigate fatal shooting in north end

Halifax Regional Police are investigating after a man was shot dead Monday night in Halifax’s north end.

Police were called to Cragg Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. after reports of shots fired.

Responding officers located the 58-year-old man with life-threatening injuries who had been shot outside a residence on the street.

The man was taken to hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Police say there is no suspect information available.

The name of victim is being withheld pending an autopsy later Tuesday.

This is the second fatal shooting in the city in three days. Shakur Jefferies was gunned down on Washmill Lake Drive in Halifax on Saturday.

Police say it’s too early to say whether this fatal shooting is connected to the homicide of Jefferies or a shooting in Bedford on Sunday morning.
