Police arrest man wanted in affluent Toronto home robberies

Toronto police have arrested a man in connection with a series of overnight break-ins in the Leaside, Rosedale and Yorkville areas.

Matthew Ward, 28, of Mississauga was arrested in Peterborough, Ont. early Wednesday morning.

It’s alleged that several homes in Toronto’s affluent neighbourhoods were robbed of cash, jewelry and electronics between July and September.

Toronto police said the robber entered the houses at night through unlocked doors and windows.

Ward has been charged with 19 counts of break and enter.

Peel Regional Police have also charged him with sexual assault.
