Toronto police are looking for two suspects wanted in connection with the stabbing of two students at an Etobicoke high school.
Emergency crews were called to Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute and Adult Learning Centre, near The East Mall and Burnhamthorpe Road, just after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said teachers came out to assist the victims while emergency crews responded to the scene.
Paramedics said an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old were in hospital in stable condition.
The incident caused the school to go into lockdown. Two nearby elementary schools were briefly placed under a hold and secure order as a precaution.
Toronto police updated the media later in the afternoon and said an altercation occurred at a bus shelter by the school involving students.
A police canine unit helped locate a second scene at a nearby high-rise apartment, which police said contained undisclosed evidence.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video but few details about the suspects have been released.
Anyone with information is being asked to call police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
