Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears were one of the world’s most famous celebrity couples, dating on-and-off for a few years before they went their separate ways in 2002.
This week, 14 years after their split, a rumour began to circulate about a potential musical reunion of the former Mickey Mouse Club stars, and fans went wild.
While at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere for his Netflix documentary Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids, the actor-singer gave validity to the rumour, saying he would “absolutely” collaborate with Spears in the future.

Upon his arrival on the TIFF red carpet, Timberlake was playful as he joked around with the film’s director and took video of the awaiting fans.
Timberlake was already in a visibly relaxed mood when he was asked if he would collaborate with Spears. The reporter added that Spears had already said she would work with Timberlake.
“She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely,” Timberlake told E! News. “I have a 17-month-old so I don’t get the headline news.”
He added, “I apologize for not being in the know… I’m accessible, give us a call!”

When asked who her dream collaborators are during a fan Q&A for Most Requested Live with Romeo, Spears listed Aerosmith, Gwen Stefani and Timberlake, who she said is “very good.”
The revelation drove many people crazy — for all the right reasons — and even received support from ‘N Sync member Lance Bass.
Others on social media couldn’t contain their excitement about the news.

The pair worked together on What It’s Like To Be Me on Spears’ 2001 Britney album, which Timberlake co-wrote with choreographer Wade Robson.
If they end up making the music video for their anticipated future collaboration, hopefully they can recreate these matching outfits from the 2001 American Music Awards.
Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids, which is the taping of his final performance on the 20/20 Experience World Tour, will premiere on Netflix October 12.
