Mayerthorpe RCMP said they are investigating after a person was killed in a head-on crash involving a pickup truck and a semi-truck on Highway 43 Thursday morning.
Mounties said officers were called to the scene around 9 a.m. and that the driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

According to police, it appears the pickup truck was driving in the oncoming lane when it collided with the semi-truck.
RCMP said their investigation is ongoing.
