Jutanugarn wins LPGA’s Canadian Open, Hamilton’s Alena Sharp takes fourth

PRIDDIS, Alta. – Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand won the LPGA’s Canadian Open on Sunday for her fifth victory this season.

The 20-year-old from Thailand built on a two-shot lead heading into the final round at Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club with a six-under 66 on Sunday.

Jutanugarn finished four shots clear of runner-up Sei Young Kim of South Korea.

Alena Sharp of Hamilton placed fourth for her career-best result. Sharp shot a five-under final round to end up seven shots back of Jutanugarn.

Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., and Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke, Que., tied for 14th at 11-under for the tournament.

The LPGA tour stays in Canada this week with the Manulife LPGA Classic in Cambridge, Ont.
