The massive Tsawwassen Mills Mall, located near the B.C. Ferries terminal, has announced another 133 retailers are joining the shopping centre, including a handful of shoe outlets and clothing factory stores.
The mega-mall is expected to open on Oct. 5, 2016, and with construction nearing completion, all that’s left is to start filling the stores with merchandise and hire workers.
Filling 1.2 million square feet of retail space, nearly 200 stores will occupy residency at the mall while adding roughly 3,000 new full-time and part-time jobs to the region.
So many new hires are needed that a second job fair will be held in Delta on Aug. 18 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The first one attracted hundreds of potential employees.
Tsawwassen Mills, located on Highway 17 and 52 Street and operated by Ivanhoé Cambridge, will boast 16 anchor tenants and an 1,100-seat food court. So far 160 tenants have been announced, including 13 anchor tenants.
