The Calgary Stampede may not officially begin until Friday, but eager cowpoke are able to get a taste of the action on Thursday when the grounds open for Sneak-a-Peek.
The park will be open from 5 p.m. until midnight. Regular midway prices are in effect, and indoor attractions and commercial exhibits close at 11 p.m.
Stampede Parade marks official kickoff of festivities
The 2016 Calgary Stampede formally launches on July 8 with the annual Stampede Parade, which begins at 9 a.m.

New treats at the Calgary Stampede Midway for 2016
If you enjoy peanut butter, you’re going to want to head to the Stampede midway to test out a PB Dumbbell from The Peanut Butter Cupboard. The deep-fried peanut butter balls are among dozens of new treats available for 2016, including mac and cheese-stuffed burgers, sticky toffee bug balls and poutine corn dogs.

Stampede 2016 concerts: from Aaron Pritchett to the Zac Brown Band
A number of big-name artists are performing in Calgary during the ten days of Stampede – and they’re not all country artists!
Blink 182, Ice Cube, Flo Rida and House of Pain are among those taking the stage at Cowboys, while Zac Brown Band and Lady Antebellum will play at the Saddledome.

The 2016 Calgary Stampede runs from July 8 to 17.
The park opens at 11 a.m., except July 10 and 13 when it opens at 9 a.m. Rides and games open at 11 a.m. daily.
