Spring may have just wrapped up, but that’s not stopping a Calgary theatre company from holding a big spring clean-up.
The wardrobe room at Evergreen Theatre is crammed with costumes used in productions going back decades.
“We had 25 years in here and it was, like, ready to burst,” the company’s Teigan Blondin de Boer said.

So, Evergreen is giving them away–more than 200 different costumes, from a rooster suit to a frog outfit complete with built-in pond vegetation.
“You never know what you might want to use these things for,” Blondin de Boer said “Dress-up for your kids or maybe you just want to don a hat for Halloween and answer the door in a crazy bat hat.”
Demonstrating a horse suit, she pointed out, “you could wear this to a Stampede party.”
The costume giveaway happens Friday, June 24 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and then from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the Evergreen Theatre building in northeast Calgary.
The company will also be selling off some items it has used in productions, including small appliances and furniture.
