Kelowna RCMP nab alleged truck thieves

KELOWNA — Kelowna RCMP have two men in custody following a series of bizarre events dealing with a stolen pick-up truck.

Things began to unfold shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday when Kelowna RCMP received a report of a stolen white Ford F-250 driving erratically near the intersection of Highway 97 and McCurdy Road.

Police say the truck had been reported stolen a day earlier from a nearby business.

Shortly after, the stolen white Ford F-250 was spotted on Franklyn Road where the occupants tried, but failed to steal another pick-up truck.

Police say the stolen truck was then involved in an incident involving a pedestrian in the Stremel Road area.

They say the pedestrian knew the truck was stolen and was attempting to recover it. The pedestrian was injured during the attempt but police say the person’s injuries were non-life threatening.

RCMP say the stolen truck was later found abandoned on High Road in Glenmore.

Two suspects were later arrested without incident at two separate locations.
