Keith Urban is coming to town, and may be the inaugural performer at Edmonton’s brand new downtown arena this fall.

The Country music superstar will perform at Rogers Place on Friday, Sept. 16, with opening acts Dallas Smith and special guest Maren Morris. It’s the first concert announced for the arena.

The fan club sale pre-sale begins May 3 at 10 a.m. MT. Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. MT.

Urban’s ripCORD WORLD TOUR 2016 kicks off earlier that week in Vancouver. “Our Canadian shows have always been off the hook giant parties,” said Urban in a news release.

CISN Country’s morning show host Chris Scheetz says, of course, this is major.

“It is an absolute huge deal. Keith Urban is one of Edmonton’s favourite artists. For Keith and Dallas Smith, who formerly was with the rock group Default, to be the two to kick off our very first country show at Rogers Place is going to be absolutely incredible.”
