‘NCIS’ renewed for two more seasons, Mark Harmon staying with show

It looks like there will be at least two more seasons of NCIS, at least according to the powers-that-be at CBS.

The network says they’re going to keep the long-running military crime drama on the air until at least 2018.

As an added bonus, CBS says fan favourite Mark Harmon will be on-board for the show’s two-year renewal.

NCIS is currently the highest-rated drama on TV, and has dominated Tuesday’s prime-time since 2008.

It is one of the few shows on TV that averages approximately 20 million viewers an episode (when you factor in DVR recordings).

In January, series star Michael Weatherly announced that he was leaving the long-running drama. He didn’t give a reason for his departure, tweeting that he will always have a place in his heart for his character.

‘NCIS’ airs on Global TV on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
