He proved himself to be a warrior in the MLB playoffs, and Toronto Blue Jays third baseman and 2015 American League MVP Josh Donaldson will be joining another team of warriors in the upcoming season of Vikings.

The two-time All-Star is heading to Ireland this week to film an episode of Vikings in which he will play Hoskuld, a skilled Viking warrior. The episode is set to air later this year as part of the History hit’s fourth season.

A massive fan of Vikings, Donaldson recently tweeted a photo unveiling a striking new Viking-esque hairstyle inspired by the lead character, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel).

In the upcoming season of Vikings, betrayal is everywhere as the powers begin to shift. Following the Vikings’ successful raid of Paris in Season 3, Ragnar is now the most feared and respected leader in the western world. However, there’s little time to savour his bloody victory as he finds himself surrounded by those seeking his undoing.

In this specially shot video, Donaldson shares a special message for fans:

The fourth season of ‘Vikings’ premieres Thursday, Feb. 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on History.
