WINNIPEG — It’s closing time for The Palomino Club.
After 27 years of business, the self-described “World Famous” bar is shutting its doors for the final time on January 2nd. The current location on Portage Avenue and Minto Street will be converted into condominiums.

“It will be the hottest lineup in Winnipeg,” said Cary Paul, owner of the Palomino Club, about the lineup that awaits on Saturday night.
“It’ll be a little stressful too to be honest because you know, my phone and the manager’s won’t stop ringing or texting.”
The location of the bar was sold in October and has since attracted many Winnipeggers who want a night out before it shutters. Paul said while he will miss the business and drinking establishment he has built over the years, it will be the patrons he will miss most.
“Whether it rises again, from the ashes, so to speak, in another location, you’ll never duplicate what took place in this iconic building. ”
