TORONTO — The skating rink at Nathan Phillips Square will be closed today, Global News has confirmed.
City inspectors examined the rink in the early morning and determined it is not fit for skating as the warm weather has melted away much of the ice.
According to Environment Canada, Toronto is expected to reach a high of 17 degrees Celsius on Thursday before dipping in the afternoon.

City crews hope to work on the rink once the temperature cools off in the evening in order to have the rink open on Christmas Day.
