Two women were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a pick-up truck in a marked crosswalk in Stony Plain, Alta. Monday evening.

It happened at the intersection of 52 Avenue and Brown Street in Stony Plain at approximately 5 p.m.

RCMP members found out that two women – a 62-year-old and a 53-year-old – were struck in the crosswalk.

Both pedestrians were taken to hospital in Edmonton suffering serious injuries.

The incident is still being investigated. RCMP said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

No charges have been laid at this time.
