Global News has declared a Liberal majority government, as the Liberals swept nearly all of Atlantic Canada by the time polls closed in Ontario, Quebec, the Prairies and Alberta.

According to Twitter Canada, over 827 tweets per minute were sent as Global News and other media outlets called a Liberal government, shortly after the polls closed at 9:30 p.m. ET. “Liberal” was also trending on Twitter as of 10 p.m. ET.
