2 Sask. inmates recaptured after walking away from work group

Two Saskatchewan inmates who walked away from a group work assignment Thursday morning have been captured. The pair, who were part of a reduced custody urban work camp at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre, were working in Martensville at the time they made their bid for freedom.

RCMP were notified and started an extensive search in Corman Park.

Daniel Forest, 25, was located just before noon and taken into custody.

Cory Lee Rushkewich, 25, was arrested just before 5:30 p.m. CT after being spotted by a passerby.

Both are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Friday morning to face charges of escaping lawful custody.
