Escape short-lived for 2 Saskatchewan Penitentiary inmates

SASKATOON – Two men who escaped from the minimum security unit at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert are back behind bars. The escape happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday when staff spotted the two leaving the property.

One inmate, Dallas Lee Jebb, was immediately captured by staff.

The second inmate, Christopher Bradley Spark, was able to get away with the help of two other people.

Police were notified and a warrant was issued. It was believed they were heading to Saskatoon.

Just before midnight, the vehicle was spotted on Highway 41 just outside the city limits. Saskatoon police and Mounties made a high-risk stop and arrested three people.

Spark, 21, is charged with escaping lawful custody.

A 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman are charged with assisting an inmate’s escape.

Spark is serving a three year sentence for possession of a prohibited weapon with ammunition, reckless discharge of a firearm and contravention of storage regulations.

He was charged after a shooting incident in Clavet and Saskatoon in April 2014.
