Vancouver Police are investigating after a senior was attacked, allegedly with a hammer, in his suite in a West End apartment.
It happened just after 4 p.m. in Sunset Towers at 1655 Barclay Street. The victim suffered a severe head injury, but according to police he is in stable condition.
Another person who lived in the building was arrested by police and remains in custody.
According to Mark Haggerty, a resident of the building, the victim was hit in the head by a hammer and police used a taser on the suspect.
Haggerty added that the victim is a quiet man who had lived in the building for several years, but is well-liked by other residents.
Vancouver Police say an investigation into the incident has begun.
