WINNIPEG — The call of the Moose could soon be heard again in Winnipeg.

True North Sports and Entertainment announced that the Winnipeg Jets’ AHL affiliate team the St. John’s IceCaps, formerly the Manitoba Moose, will be back in the city as early as the 2015-16 season.

The Montreal Canadiens AHL team, the Hamilton Bulldogs, will be filling the hole left by the IceCaps in Newfoundland.

The Manitoba Moose played in Manitoba from 1996 until they became the IceCaps and moved to St. John’s Newfoundland in 2011.

So far there’s no word if the IceCaps will become the Manitoba Moose once again.
