SASKATOON – The director of human resources for the City of Saskatoon is going to jail. Marno McInnes was sentenced to 36 days in jail after pleading guilty earlier this year for driving under the influence.
He’s been ordered to report to a Prince Albert jail on Dec. 29, where he will be enrolled in the impaired driver treatment program. McInnes was charged last December with driving under the influence.

MORE: City of Saskatoon employee charged with DUI
McInnes was the city’s negotiator during the transit dispute earlier this year and has worked for the city since 2013.
This is McInnes’ second DUI. While living in British Columbia in 2009, McInnes was observed by an officer at an A&W drive-thru.
A breathalyser test was administered, resulting in the charge. McInnes was found guilty. He appealed the charge, but it was denied.
A criminal record does not preclude someone from being hired by the city. The city takes into account the nature of the offence, when it took place, and the relevance to the position being applied for.
