KAMSACK, Sask. – One man is dead and another injured after a crash on Highway 8 that Mounties believe is alcohol related.
Kamsack RCMP were called out to the rollover around 7:45 a.m. Sunday morning on the highway through the Keeseekoose First Nation.
An SUV was found on its side in the ditch with two men nearby.
One man was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The second man was taken to a Regina hospital by STARS with serious injuries.
Mounties say the section of the highway where the rollover happened was closed for road maintenance with a detour in place to bypass excavated earth.
Investigators say the road closure and detour signs were in place at the time of the crash and believe alcohol played a factor in the rollover.
