PENTICTON – She’s only one but has already had a rough go of it in her short life.
It’s hoped someone in the Okanagan will be touched by the friendly feline’s story and give her a second chance at a good life.
Chucky has recently had one of her legs amputated after being allegedly thrown out of a second floor window in Osoyoos.
X-rays initially showed a pelvic fracture but after weeks of care rest, it was discovered she also had a broken femur.
As a result, Chucky had to have her rear right leg amputated.
“Chucky is such a brave, lively girl. I can only imagine what she suffered before coming into our care, but she’s doing so amazing now, ” says Penticton SPCA branch manager Corinne Ross. “I’d say she’s ready to embark on a tri-pawed life without looking back.”
Chucky is now looking for a suitable foster home while she recovers from her surgery.
After that, she’ll need a permanent home.
While costs associated with the surgery were covered by Rose Valley Veterinary Hospital, the SPCA is seeking help to cover Chucky’s other medical expenses including several rounds of X-rays, medication and post-surgery care.
