PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Restrictions are in place at a nursing home unit in Prince Albert, Sask. after a respiratory illness outbreak.
The restriction was put in place by the Prince Albert Health Region on Monday at the Lakeland Trail unit at Herb Bassett Home after eight residents became ill with respiratory symptoms.
They have been placed in isolation and testing is underway to determine the cause of the illness. No staff members have reported symptoms.
Signs are up to informing staff and visitors an outbreak is in effect.
The health region is asking people to reschedule visits until the outbreak is declared over but will accommodate family member visits for urgent or compassionate reasons.
Golden Hill and Paradise Path units are not affected by the outbreak.
