WINNIPEG – After playing one season in Winnipeg Devin Setoguchi is headed closer to home to play in Calgary.  The Flames announcing they’ve signed the 27-year-old Taber, Alberta native to a one year, $750,000 contract.  It’s a steep pay cut for the unrestricted free agent who earned $3.2 million with the Jets in 2013-2014.

After underachieving for the better part of the season Setoguchi found himself as a healthy scratch late in the year and finished the campaign with just 11 goals and 16 assists in 75 games.  The Jets acquired the right winger in a trade last summer giving up a 2014 2nd round draft pick for his rights from the Minnesota Wild.

Setoguchi has played 7 seasons in the NHL with San Jose, Minnesota and Winnipeg.
