REGINA – Police are investigating a serious early morning assault that happened in a parking lot of a gas station in northwest Regina.

According to police, officers responded to a call around 2:00 a.m. about an assault in progress at the Petro-Canada at Sherwood Drive and Avonhurst Drive.

Initial reports indicated that three men were being assaulted by another group.

When police arrived they found an injured 35-year-old man who was taken to hospital. A 20-year-old man who appeared to have been sprayed with bear spray was found nearby. He was treated at the scene and released. Later in the day police located a third victim – a 19-year-old man who was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police continue to investigate and are looking for suspects.
