SASKATOON – Heavy rain Thursday evening flooded streets and sidewalks in Saskatoon, and at times made visibility difficult.
It was all part of an intense weather system that moved through the province.
So far, there have been no reports of serious damage in the city.
Parts of the downtown resembled a lake as the rain pelted down. Some streets were almost completely flooded.
The underpass on Idylwyld Drive was also closed for a while.
Power was knocked-out in a number of areas.
There were reports of funnels clouds west of Saskatoon but no reports of any touching down.
It was the same elsewhere, with power outages, hail and heavy rain reported across the province.
A lightning strike in the Rosthern area took out SaskTel landlines, internet and cell service for about 1,000 customers.
