Backwards bowler aims to roll world record perfect game

Bowling a perfect 300 is a tough task, but what if you tried to do it backwards? That’s what Andrew Cowen of Rockford, Illinois is aiming to do.

Cowen is looking to become the first person to bowl a perfect game backwards and set a new world record in the process.

Cowen, the current record holder for backwards bowling with a 280, has actually bowled a perfect game facing forward, so why make the change? As Cowen explains it’s all about the challenge, “Nobody has thrown a 300 (facing backwards) and I figured it would be an interesting challenge to throw it that way.”

But Cowen isn’t alone when it comes to great backwards feats in sports. Here’s a few more examples of playing it backwards.

Then there’s the tweener in tennis. Best exemplified here by Roger Federer in the 2009 US Open.
