Police in Abbotsford, B.C., descended on a neighbourhood on Friday afternoon following a shooting.
Sgt. Paul Walker with the Abbotsford Police Department confirmed that officers were called to a home in the 3200 block of Siskin Drive just after 12:30 p.m.
He said they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and, despite life-saving measures, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

“This incident, I want to stress, is not extortion-related,” Walker said, “but related to the B.C. gang conflict. The individual in the home is well-known to police and is connected to that B.C. gang conflict.”
He added that the shooting on Friday was “specific” and targeted that person; however, they will not be releasing the man’s identity at this time.
The investigation is being transferred to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
Siskin Drive remains closed between Sandpiper Drive and Stellar Court.
“This is definitely a concern to us, anytime we have a shooting or a homicide in the city,” Walker said.
