WATCH: Samuel L. Jackson rips into reporter who mistook him for Laurence Fishburne

TORONTO — Veteran entertainment reporter Sam Rubin was left red-faced Monday when he got called out on live TV for mistaking Samuel L. Jackson for Laurence Fishburne.

“We don’t all look alike,” Jackson exclaimed after Rubin congratulated him on his Super Bowl commercial.

In fact, it was Fishburne who appeared in the Kia ad during the Super Bowl.

“You’re the entertainment reporter for this station and you don’t know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne?,” asked Jackson.

“We may all be black and famous, but we all don’t look alike. I’m the other guy.”

Rubin was apologetic throughout Jackson’s rant.

He later apologized formally on the KTLA website. “I do know who Samuel L. Jackson is … I immediately felt so dumb. He gave me the shellacking that was well deserved.”

Rubin called it “a very amateur mistake.”

Jackson was appearing on KTLA from Atlanta to promote the made-in-Ontario action flick RoboCop.

“I’m the only black guy in RoboCop who is not a criminal,” Jackson joked.
