Northeast Calgary shooting sends man to hospital

Police are investigating a shooting in northeast Calgary early Tuesday that sent a man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, officers were called to the scene of the shooting in the 0 to 100 block of Cityscape Way Northeast just before 12:30 a.m.

“Upon arrival, officers located a man who appeared to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” police said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

The man was transported to hospital in critical condition, police said.

“Based on the evidence at the scene, it is believed this was a targeted incident and there is no threat to the public,” police said.

No suspects are in custody, according to police.

Police did not say if the shooting occurred on a street or green space or in a building or vehicle.
