A Hamilton-area man faces charges following a skirmish at Scotiabank Arena Saturday evening during the Leafs game, according to police.
Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) and Toronto police (TPS) say the Ancaster, Ont., man became “confrontational with security” when officers attempted to check his well-being.
Investigators accuse the 37-year-old, whose identity was revealed in a TPS post, of assaulting three security guards just before 10 p.m.
The incident was captured on video in a Reddit post and shows two security guards attempting to pin a man down on the ground before one of them appears to kneel the man in the face multiple times.
A crowd of spectators can be seen watching the incident.
The accused is scheduled to appear in front of an Ontario Court of Justice in March, say police.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
