A global health emergency has been declared over a rare and deadly strain of the Ebola virus. The World Health Organization says the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Uganda, is behind at least 80 suspected deaths and 246 suspected cases. And, Canadian Conservative MP Michael Chong is in Taipei meeting with its president and other Taiwanese officials. His trip follows a recent warning from China’s ambassador not to do so and comes just days after U.S. President Donald Trump cautioned Taiwan against officially declaring its independence.
