Sunday marks the start of a 60-day negotiation period between the United States and Iran to finalize their memorandum of understanding in hopes of achieving lasting peace in the region. But the relationship between the two warring countries remains tenuous as U.S. President Donald Trump issued new threats against Iran. Candice Cole is in Washington with more. According to Statistics Canada, Albertans' home insurance premiums have skyrocketed due to an increase in the frequency and severity of extreme weather events. While there has been a nearly 40-per-cent increase in premiums across the country, the data shows Alberta was the hardest hit with a 56 per cent hike between December 2020 and 2025.
