Lexy Benedict
Digital Broadcast Journalist
Lexy Benedict is a digital broadcast journalist with Global News Toronto.
Born in the Greater Toronto Area and raised in Stouffville, Ont., she graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 2019.
After completing a broadcast internship with CTV News Toronto, she became a web writer for CP24 and CTV News Toronto, before pursuing her dream job in broadcast reporting with CTV News Barrie in January 2020.
She briefly reported for The Weather Network in 2022, but switched back to the world of breaking news when she became a videographer with Global News Durham in late 2022, covering everything from breaking news to feel-good community stories.
Lexy is a passionate storyteller, dedicated to creating impact and change within communities and sharing stories of human interest. She believes in the importance of local news, and that everyone has a story to tell.
When she isn’t chasing news, you can usually find her hanging out with her three dogs, spending time outdoors, with her friends and family and meeting new people.
