Ella Macdonald is a Digital Broadcast Journalist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Ella grew up in British Columbia’s Coast Mountains and moved to Nova Scotia to study journalism at the University of King’s College in 2019. She graduated from King’s in 2023 and began freelancing at Global Halifax later that year. Following a stint as the station’s Assignment Coordinator, Ella moved into her current role as a full-time reporter.
Ella’s passions include mountain biking and dancing when there are few mountains around. She loves to tell stories that involve world affairs and women’s health.
