TORONTO — Singer and former TV star David Cassidy was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated.
Police in Schodack, in upstate New York, said the 63-year-old star of The Partridge Family had a .10 blood alcohol level when he was stopped at a DWI checkpoint.
Cassidy was charged with a felony due to a prior conviction in 2011.
The star, whose daughter Katie Cassidy films Arrow in Vancouver, was released on $2,500 bail. He is due back in court on Sept. 4.
Last week, Cassidy told his fans he was having a “fantastic” summer in upstate New York doing “some of the best shows I’ve ever done.”
He wrote on his website: “I don’t know how long I will continue but I’m loving it so much, other than the travel!!”
Cassidy, whose hits include “I Think I Love You,” was forced to cancel some shows in July after he suffered a third-degree burn to his right arm.
He is scheduled to perform Sept. 21 at Casino Rama in Orillia, Ont. and Oct. 12 at the Stampede Casino in Calgary.
