A 16-year-old has been charged in connection with the stabbing and robbery of a taxi driver in Dartmouth on April 8.
Halifax Regional Police say they arrested the youth on Wednesday at 9:51 p.m. at an apartment in the 2300 block of Brunswick Street. He was taken into custody without incident.
Police held the 16-year-old overnight.

He was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court today on the charges of robbery, assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.
According to police, they responded to the intersection of Primrose Street and Victoria Road shortly after 5:00 a.m. on April 8 where it was reported that a taxi driver was being assaulted.
The driver, a 49-year-old man, had stopped in the area with four male passengers he’d picked up in Halifax when one of them assaulted the taxi driver with a knife. The three other passengers then assaulted him.

The suspects rummaged through the vehicle and took some of the victim’s personal belongings and an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area.
The driver was transported to the QEII hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
