Focus Montreal introduces Montrealers to people who are shaping our community and brings their stories into focus.
It airs on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and midnight.
Take a look at who we’re meeting this week on Focus Montreal:
The rise and fall of Heenan Blaikie
It’s been three years since the collapse of the Montreal-based law firm Heenan Blaikie.
Now, former managing partner Norman Bacal is taking a look back at what led to the law firm’s demise in a new book called “Breakdown: The Inside Story of the Rise and Fall of Heenan Blaikie.”
The company was one of Canada’s leading law firms.
It quickly grew into a legal empire with over 1,100 employees on staff including former prime ministers Pierre Elliot Trudeau and Jean Chrétien.
Over the span of 40 years, the firm was built from the ground up.
So when Heenan Blaikie imploded in 2014, many were left asking what had gone wrong, including Bacal himself.
The Montrealer and author of “Breakdown” joins Global’s Elysia Bryan-Baynes to discuss the storied law firm.
Daylight saving time
Losing an hour of sleep can feel hard for some and it could also take a toll on your health.
Imagine the impact daylight saving can have on your child?
Elysia Bryan-Baynes sat down with sleep expert Shawna Rose earlier this week, who shared her tips and tricks on keeping kids on track during the change.
March is nutrition month
March is nutrition month and Dietitians of Canada want help take the fight out of food.
Unfortunately, 49 per cent of Canadians are getting their food and nutrition information from the internet.
While Google searches can be helpful, many of the results are inaccurate and can be overwhelming.
Food and nutrition has become a trending national topic over the years with Canadians increasingly concerned with how they feed themselves and their families.
Montreal registered dietitian, Alessandra Barba, joins Elyisia Bryan-Baynes in studio to share her tips and tricks to help us overcome some of the common food fights many of us struggle to solve.
