The Tool Library, a tool-sharing non-profit society, will officially open the space and begin lending tools on Jan. 14, 2017.

It will initially start with hours solely between 1 and 5 p.m. on Saturdays but will expand hours and loan on weekdays as demand increases.

Cann said a tool drive in mid-October collected between 30 to 40 tools, such as hammers, band saws, circular saws and other hand tools.

So far, more than 40 people have signed up to be members. Membership costs $50 per year.
