The accused became emotional as graphic autopsy evidence was shown and the forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy on Lindey Sugar explained her injuries.

Sugar began to rock back and forth in her chair and cry. The judge granted an early lunch break to give the accused and jury time to process the graphic evidence.

Two family members of the accused and deceased became vocal in the court room and yelled at Sugar saying, “you did that, you did that to your daughter.”

The forensic pathologist later testified that Lindey Sugar ultimately died of blood loss from a stab wound to the neck, despite other wounds on her back and arms.

In response to a question by the defense, the pathologist said Lindey had multiple drugs in her system at the time of her death including marijuana, alcohol and methadone. The defense suggested this could explain the victim’s aggressive nature and increase the likelihood the victim instigated the argument.
