A pedestrian was hit in the area of 14 Street and Southland Drive just after 5:15 a.m. Friday morning.
Calgary police told Global News the man was struck by a northbound vehicle and reportedly got up right after and started to run away from the scene.

EMS found the man and transported him to hospital. The man suffered an apparent head injury and is in serious condition.
Northbound 14 Street was closed for two-and-half hours but reopened just after 7:45 a.m..
Officers continue to investigate.
