Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a violent armed robbery at a convenience store in Grande Prairie last year.
Chrystifer Eggerstedt, 29, and Chancey Huether, 32, have both been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, disguised with intent and assault with a weapon.
RCMP said on Nov. 18, 2015 two men went into the Mission Heights Macs convenience store. One of the suspects held a knife to an employee and demanded the cash register be opened. The other man filled a bag with cash, cigarettes and lotto tickets.
The employee wasn’t hurt.
Eggerstedt, who is already in custody, was also charged with breaching conditions not to carry a weapon.
Huether was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Aug. 15.
Both men are from Grande Prairie, which is about 460 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
