A 30-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a B.C. man who was found in a Home Hardware parking lot in Grande Prairie.
Michael Ginter, of Grande Prairie, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
On Saturday, May 14, 34-year-old Nikkolas Steenhuisen, a husband and father of three young children, left the Home Hardware store and saw a man he didn’t know inside his truck.
RCMP said Steenhuisen confronted the man, who ran to another truck and tried to drive away. In the process, Steenhuisen was pinned between the truck and another parked vehicle.
The suspect drove away, leaving the victim severely injured in the parking lot, RCMP said.
He was airlifted to Edmonton but died before getting to the hospital.
