A 56-year-old man is facing charges related to a month long prostitution investigation by RCMP in Grande Prairie.
In late June, police began investigating a man who was allegedly targeting vulnerable high risk teenage boys in the Grande Prairie area in an attempt to lure them into the sex trade.
Last Sunday, the RCMP said surveillance was being conducted on the suspect when investigators believe they saw the man about to victimize a teen male.
The RCMP said officers intervened, rescued the teen and arrested the man.
Irving Tobias Oldford was charged with three counts of procuring prostitution of someone under 18 years old and one count of sexual assault.
Oldford was released on several conditions, including no contact with anyone under 18 years old unless accompanied by another adult.
He’s scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie’s provincial court on Aug. 3.
