Winnipeg Blue Bombers add Canadian veteran defensive lineman

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have beefed up their defensive line by signing veteran defensive tackle, Keith Shologan on the opening day of CFL free agency.

The Canadian will be entering his ninth season in the league after spending the last two years with the Ottawa Redblacks.

Shologan has tallied 182 career defensive tackles, 23 sacks and a forced fumble. Last season alone, he had 23 defensive tackles and seven sacks in 15 games.

The 30-year-old was named the 2010 Grey Cup game’s Most Valuable Canadian despite his Saskatchewan Roughriders loss to the Montreal Alouettes.

Shologan attended training camp with the NFL’s San Diego Chargers back in 2008.
