REGINA – Graham DeLaet has landed in Scotland for the Open Championship, but his clubs have not.

The Weyburn, Sask. product headed overseas this weekend to prepare for golf’s third major of the year.

But when DeLaet landed he quickly realized he was missing his trusted tools of the trade.

The 33-year old has heard back from the airline, but it’s not known clear when his clubs will be located. In the meantime he’s been using a loaner set from Titleist during his practice rounds.

The six-year PGA Tour pro is still searching for his first career PGA Tour win, and he’d love to do it at the Old Course at St. Andrews. Just last week DeLaet told Global News that the Open was his “favourite tournament he’s every played in” and he’s going there with one goal in mind: the Claret Jug.

Scott Hartnell, a forward with the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets and Regina native, weighed in on the missing clubs.

DeLaet is set to tee off at the Open on July 16 at 6:54 a.m in Scotland, or July 15 at 11:54 p.m. CST with or without his clubs.
