MONTREAL LAKE CREE NATION, Sask. – A man is facing numerous charges after a shot was fired at another man during an intoxicated altercation on a Saskatchewan First Nation over the weekend.
Mounties say the two drunk men were fighting Saturday afternoon at Montreal Lake Cree Nation when one pointed a firearm at the other and fired a shot.
No one was injured.
Officers took both men into custody for the disturbance and seized a .22 calibre rifle as a result of their investigation.
Dustyn Samuel Smith, 19, from Montreal Lake Cree Nation is facing at least seven charges including discharging a firearm with intent, uttering threats and careless use of a firearm.
Smith is scheduled to appear in a Prince Albert courtroom on Monday.
Waskesiu RCMP continue to investigate.
